Our Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) team offers regulatory and transactional advice to clients in the TMT sector in both Kenya and Rwanda.

Our team of lawyers have in-depth knowledge on the legal and regulatory aspects that govern the supply and use of TMT and a comprehensive understanding of the policies that affect this sector. We are therefore able to provide practical and commercially conscious solutions to our clients.

Our range of services include advisory on regulatory, policy, compliance and transactional issues relating to new technologies, data protection, privacy, cybersecurity, outsourcing, online gaming, broadcasting, film, music and content production and distribution amongst others.

  • Co-lead negotiator for the purchase of software by a leading Kenyan publishing company from an Indian based manufacturer.
  • Reviewing Celebrity Endorsement Agreements for a wellness center.
  • Preparation of an ERP Software licence and Service Level Agreement on behalf of a national society involved in the promotion of agriculture, trade, industry and tourism
  • Offering general advisory on data protection laws, smart contracts and review of company privacy policies.
  • Advising a UK based technology company on the resale of software licences in Kenya.
  • Advising a Nigerian broadcasting company on the requirements for setting up a broadcasting company in Kenya and facilitating the application for a subscription management license.
  • Advising a digital media organization on the regulation of podcasts in Kenya.
