The National Land Commission has on 1^st November, 2018 published notice of revocation of awards for the Standard Gauge Railway Phase 2A (Nairobi-Naivasha). All the inquiries held as scheduled in the Gazette Notice 2033 of 2018 have now been cancelled.

The Commission gave reasons for cancellation as follows:

1. Omission and errors in the areas acquired;
2. Changes in the land to be acquired as a result of the project re-alignment;
3. Overlapping of boundaries;
4. Parcels that have been severely affected by splitting of land into non-useful and uneconomical portions; and
5. Need to acquire entire parcels of land in other instances.

The Notice further states that individual details of how each parcel of land is to be affected is available at the Commission’s office. The Commission’s officers will also be available at the respective chief’s office along the Standard Gauge Railway line as from 5^th to 7^th November, 2018.
