Lorna’s expertise is broad covering corporate law, intellectual property and TMT. As the head of the TMT practice at the Firm, Lorna offers transactional, compliance and regulatory advisory in all commercial phases of this sector. Some of her work involves advisory on telecoms, technology transfer, e-commerce, data protection and privacy, content creation, broadcasting, social media and new media.

A seasoned transactional lawyer and the partner in charge of our corporate and commercial practice, Lorna has been recognised for her corporate & commercial work by global leading legal directory IFLR1000. She regularly advises clients on business establishment, contracts, competition law, consumer protection, joint ventures, private equity plus transaction-related regulatory and compliance issues.

Lorna also heads our formidable IP practice and where she works on some of the region’s largest and most complex IP matters. She also advises clients on IP-related commercial aspects of distribution, franchising and M&A deals.

Lorna is dual-qualified and registered as a trademark and patent agent in both Kenya and Rwanda. Her expertise covers ARIPO, OAPI and international registration systems. She is highly regarded for her first-rate contentious and non-contentious IP work. Plus, for being an IP thought leader, especially on anti-counterfeit law.

Several international leading legal directories including Chambers Global, Managing IP and WTR1000 have consistently recognised her(for many years) as one of Kenya’s finest IP lawyers, citing among other things – her promptness, attention to detail, effectiveness and strategic advice.
