Further to our Article dated 22nd May, 2020 on the amendments to the list of products exempted from Pre-Arrival Clearance under the PVoC Program, the Destination Inspection Fee for imports arriving at the ports of entry without a certificate of conformity, certificate of inspection or certificate of roadworthiness has also been amended to a fee equal to five percent (5%) of the approved customs value of the product.
This is pursuant to Legal Notice No. 78 – the Standards (Verification of Conformity to Standards and other Applicable Regulations of Imports) Regulations, 2020.
Previously the Destination Inspection Fee for such products was a fee equal to twenty percent (20%) of the approved customs value of the goods.
